Yeah, it was a ripoff, although I didn’t know at the time. Also, for some reason it has four different 1.5v voltage setting, for AAA, AA, C, and D batteries, but you can test each type of battery on each setting, but the reading is the same.
Yeah, I’m not sure about it, but I have a feeling analog ones are more reliable than digital ones. Also, although they do take a 9v battery, you don’t need it for voltage testing, only for resistance measurement. I had an analog one hat lasted me 4 years.

Thanks Trent. Wow it sounds like Canadian Tire really ripped you off there, I’ve never had an analog multimeter, but I suppose it would be a lot less likely to fail.

Yeah I can send you a link, although I don’t know if there’s Harbor Freight Tools near where you live.

Can you send me an attachment for were you got the meter with the model number? When you used on the WH that you installed the tach on was it the same as that reading? That Honda runs really good!

That’s a real nice tester, and a good deal! You don’t see temperature, RPM, and data hold features on them at that price. (I didn’t know those features even existed on a multimeter!)
A couple of years ago I bought an Equus digital multimeter at Canadian Tire. It was $30, and it’s actually quite crappy. The package boasted features, which it does NOT have, and one of the leads already broke.
I prefer analog multimeters. They’re cheaper, and i’m a sucker for analog.
Great video Charlie!

I need a tachometer, but I also need more fuel for my string trimmers. That has to come first (:()
