What kind of mower did you find the peerless 800 on?

No, I dont. I opened mine up and its totally different. The only way that I figured I can do mine is to weld it and I dont want to have it like that permanently. The only identification I could find on mine was “FOOTE 3261″ Its a 6 speed with high and low

I got my spiders from a single speed tranny that came off of my mtd yard machines (which I converted to a 5speed- see my other vid).
It steers totally fine on dirt, snow and sand, rocks, logs. Not so well on pavement. I avoid the road like the plague. I haven’t even explored all of my woods yet so there’s no need to go on the road.
Honestly, it’s great!! Do you have a peerless 800?

Also, how is the steering on it since you locked it?

Where did you get your two spider gears from?

Thanks man!
I wish I had thought to take a vid of the drilling and other steps involved.
This was the first time I had ever taken apart a tranny and it shows. I didn’t even degrease it before working on it because I was afraid to take everything out of the case! Not anymore. Now I get them sparkling clean before I even attempt any work.
Next time I have ann 800 peerless I’ll be more thorough.

This is a really great vid! I always have people asking me how to lock the diff. Most people don’t have a welder, so I usually refer them to this vid!
5*’s

Must have missed that somehow then!
Welding then is pretty simple…. long as you dont get splatter on any gears!
Agree about the grease too, I did one of mine (stock mower) wanted to jsut give it more of a chance. But I couldnt be bothered opening it and filling it, so I pulled out the plug in the top and filled it up.

BTW, anyone that does work like this should not be lazy like me and remove all the grease first!

Actually, this was part 2. I renamed it. Part 1 was redundant.
I forgot to make a vid of my other tranny (foote 4360) It had the internal bull gear. I welded the spiders on that one. Worked great, but not removable.

Was this on your other channel? I dont rmember it being in part 2
I think mine has it inside the bull gear, not sure what series it is though. Still need to get round to pulling it and taking it apart
